Editorial standards
What the advice on this site is based on.
The site starts with Mark’s Katama and the questions that come with owning it. The buying guides also draw on supplier and manufacturer information, linked where it’s used.
Owner accounts
The owner notebook records Mark’s purchases, observations and projects. Each account says what happened and what remains unknown. An observation about his boat doesn’t establish a factory specification or fit for someone else’s.
Buying guides
These compare published information and explain the practical questions to ask before buying. Supplier specifications and claims are attributed. A researched recommendation won’t be presented as a product we’ve tested.
Hands-on reviews
A hands-on review needs an identified product, actual installation or use, and specific observations. We won’t invent ratings, test results or ownership history. The current cushion account covers a purchase and a color question; the repower is still being planned.
Sources and corrections
Guides carry a review date and source links. Dimensions, availability and policies can change, so check the current listing before ordering. When a source contradicts itself, we flag the discrepancy. Rebuilding a page doesn’t count as a fresh review.
Money and recommendations
No affiliate links or paid placements are active. If that changes, commission links will be disclosed near the recommendation and paid placements labeled. A commercial relationship won’t be treated as evidence that a product is good. See the commercial disclosure.
Fit and installation
Boston Whaler Owners is independent of Boston Whaler and its dealers. The seller needs to confirm the exact item and order terms. Safety-critical fit and installation decisions belong with a qualified marine professional who has assessed the boat.
